West Ham United has enjoyed a terrific start to the 2014/15 season of the English Premier League and still riding high on the momentum of their good run, the Hammers currently occupy the 4th spot on the Premier League table as the season heads into Week 12. Everton will be hosting the Hammers this weekend at Goodison Park and will definitely be looking to turn things around with a win against West Ham. In the 10 most recent head-to-head matches between the two clubs, Everton had typically dominated the match and emerged victorious. West Ham didn’t manage to win any of the 10 previous matches against the Toffees but only managed at best, to draw on 3 out of those 10 games. However, this season has been a surprisingly favourable one for the Hammers so fans can expect West Ham United to pull through with at least a draw and maybe even a win. Everton, inundated with a poor season run, seems highly unlikely to be able to beat West Ham but if the past history between the two is any indicator, the hosts will at least try to settle for a draw.

Prediction: Everton and West Ham United draw 1-1

English Premier League: Everton vs Swansea City Preview

Both Everton and Swansea City share a rich and colourful history, having played plenty of matches against each other over the past years. The upcoming Week 10 match between the two promises to be exciting as well as entertaining, given that there is much at stake — currently, Swansea City sits just one spot above the Toffees on the Premier League table but if Everton manages to secure a win by the end of this match, it will allow them to knock their opponents out of the 6th spot.

Strikers on both sides are in top form — Everton’s ambitious hopes rests on the shoulders of Romelu Lukaku and Samuel Eto’o while the Swans have Wilfried Bony to lead the way. Even though the Swans have done well and are currently ranked 6th in the season, Everton is rapidly picking up pace in their efforts to scale the rankings of the Premier League table. Despite starting off the season on the wrong foot, the Toffees have been tightening up their defenses and had conceded only 4 goals in the last 4 Premier League matches they played. They have also won the last 2 matches played and will no doubt be looking to extend that winning streak in their match against the Swans.

While both teams are well matched this season, Everton will emerge victorious by the end of the match, if past matches are anything to go by. Firstly, Everton is known to favour smart play rather than aggressive play whereas Swansea City has historically taken the majority of the number of cards in past matches between the two. Secondly, Swansea seems to be struggling while on the road — they have not won any of their away matches whereas Everton’s form seems to be picking up steam. Additionally, renowned Everton’s goalkeeper Tim Howard will be a tough barrier for Swansea City to break through, especially not on the Toffees’ home ground.

Prediction: Everton wins 2-0
